Established in 1987, the aim of the Modern Railway Society of Ireland is to foster interest in the current railway scene, especially in Ireland.
80 class preservation at Downpatrick
80 class vehicles 69 and 749 (in their original 1978 livery), 90 (in Translink blue and silver) and 752 (in Sandite yellow) arrived at Downpatrick on 12 and 13 May. Our secretary Andy is seen here with Robert Gardiner, chairman of the Downpatrick and County Down Railway in front of 69 and in its cab.
Details of next year’s programme are in our latest newsletter.
